"Flesh is willing, mind is weak"
I have always had this problem. I procrastinate too much. So much so that I think it is beginning to affect my work. What could've been done in a few hours stretches to weeks and then it becomes last minute work (which usually comes out crappy). Or what could've been easily solved, becomes super complicated because of the additional thinking involved.
But today, i decided to be more decisive. Carpe Diem they say! And i heeded! I decided to make a decision to go blading with Hippo tonight. Although the timing was a bit tight. I had to do laundry the first thing i get home, then drive all the way to DC place to grab my blades, then drive all the way to ECP to blade. I was willing to do that and I made up my mind to do that. And what happened? It had to rain when I was about to drive off to DC place.. total bummer... sigh

"Jello legs"
In order to prevent my legs from becoming jello legs (read: cellulite), I did a super mad thing today... Met up with Hippo and we bladed from one end of ECP to the other.. (Fort Rd -> Changi Point, Changi Point-> Laguna Food Centre, Laguna Food Centre -> Fort Rd, Fort Rd -> Taxi stand at East Coast Seafood Centre). Best part? Now my legs really feel like jello (read: soft). Gosh... a grand total of abt... 17km? Hey.. quite an achievement for someone who has never managed to run more than 7km!
But it was a great work out. No pesky kids to worry about, unlike the crowded Sunday traffic. Sure, you had sudden obstacles, but they were manageable (still had some close shaves though). Gliding through with the sea breeze was fantastic.. Should do this more often with more ppl! Also did an achievement in terms of handling the slope in the direction of Changi Point. No more hitching choo choo train with Hippo anymore! Ha ha ha!
So how was my day today? Well.. started off badly due to a stupid lizard, before I went to bed. Wanted to switch off the reading light, so I absent mindedly reached for it.. I thought I touched the switch, and in that spilt second, realized that the light was still on, and I heard a "twack" plus rustling of plastic bags. Realization hit. F%@$! I just touched a lizard... and the whole night was spent worrying when the idiotic thing will appear anywhere around the bed.
I hate lizards. Period.
Other than that, work was surprisingly ok! Unusual for a Fri, but I am not complaining. Rather enjoy it while it lasts!
Alrighty.. turning in now.. Hair almost dry.. and tummy getting acidic again.. My medication this time tastes like vanilla! Yummy! If only it were like that all the time :) Ok turning in before I need to eat something..
Good Night! Selamat Malam! Wan3 An1! Guten Nacht! Oyasuminasai!

"Anyway, I am with him, u r not allowed to msg or call him"
A few days ago, I got a first hand experience of the ugly side of humans. Or more specifically, humans of the female species. What turned out to be a very harmless prank (or so I thought) , became a huge sms slug fest! I shall not dwell into details, but the most compelling part was the above sentence - "Anyway, I am with him, u r not allowed to msg or call him".
Hmm... mind you, the opposition was an older female. I was kinda shocked to receive such a msg.. cos it brings back extremely unpleasant memories. But oh well, which begs the topic: would you restrict your other half from contacting a friend? Especially if that friend is of the opposite sex to your other half?
I have seen both extremes: I have friends who don't mind their current squeeze getting in touch with their exes (although sometimes it still makes them uncomfortable). On the other end of the spectrum, I have friends whose sweet "darlings" morph into the ugly green monster (where's ultraman when u need him).
So.. what kind am I? I don't deny that in the past, I used to be the ugly green monster. I was younger, more naive about relationships and insecure. I remember an occasion where my other half received a phone call at 1am. He hurriedly went to a corner, out of earshot. Not exactly the most reassuring action, yes? Needless to say, the following days were full of cold wars, sarcasm and arguments.
I guess I have since mellowed down. It also helps that I am more reassured now and have a better understanding of my other half. I'm not saying that I have absolute control over the reins to that monster, it still reeks it's ugly head once in a while. But at least now, I know how to handle it.
So.. be it u r male or female, trust is important in a relationship. :)
I shall sign off with the lyrics from SPACE - Female of the species. Dedicated to my friend, good luck!
A thousand thundering thrills await me
Facing insurmountable odds greatly
The female of the species is more deadlier than the male.
Shock shock horror horror, shock shock horror!
I'll shout myself hoarse for your supernatural force!
The female of the species is more deadlier than the male.
Oh, she deals in witchcraft and
One kiss and I'm zapped. Oh,
How can heaven hold a place for me
When a girl like you has cast her spell on me?
Oh, How can heaven hold a place for me
When a girl like you has cast her spell on me?
Frankenstein and Dracula have nothing on you
Jekyll and Hyde join the back of the queue
The female of the species is more deadlier than the male.
For she wants to conquer the world completely
But first she'll conquer me discreetly
The female of the species is more deadlier than the male.
Oh, she deals in witchcraft and
One kiss and I'm zapped. Oh,
How can heaven hold a place for me
When a girl like you has cast her spell on me?

I am a virgin.. blogger
Did that grab ur attention? Ha ha ha.. yeah.. I am a virgin blogger... while others have already done thousands or millions of entries in their blogs, I have just started mine.. always been known to be a late bloomer, laggard, technophobe etc
Finally got about setting up me blog. Procrastinated long enough. So tah dah! Welcome to Xallista's blog! Titled "Wandering aloud" (nope, it's not a typo), this blog will be dedicated to issues that happen to me, inspirations, grouses etc. Basically everything I guess? The name already has 2 meanings
1) to talk about any issues, current events, happenings, inspirations, blah blah blah and give my comments. No holds barred!
2) to talk to myself and be in my own world and then realize that other ppl are tuning in. You eavesdroppers! Ha ha ha
so yeah.. 2 sides of the coin. I just hope I can be disciplined enough to maintain this though. The only reason why this blog is started today, is due to the fact that I am on Medical leave.. bad gastric problem. I hope.. this blog won't be updated only when I am on Medical Leave! Then I have to change the name to Medical History Blog ;p
ok.. signing off now.. till the next time (Hopefully soon)!
